Welcome

Welcome to the Harrow International School Hong Kong, the first international boarding and day school in Hong Kong. It is the fifth member of Harrow Family of Schools and the third in the Asia region. 2016-17 is our fifth year of operation and the student body has now grown from its starting total of 750 in September 2012 to 1180 in September 2016. Our clear and distinctive vision statement, Leadership for a better world, underpins what happens in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities and pastoral care in the School. Collectively, we aim to develop in our students the desire and skills to make a positive difference through people to the communities in which they live. Bringing elements of educational philosophy and practice from Harrow School in London to Hong Kong.

School description

Located in a magnificent crescent-shaped building with custom-built facilities near the Gold Coast, Tuen Mun, the School integrates elements of educational philosophy, practice and traditions from Harrow School in England into the diverse international community of Hong Kong to provide a highly distinctive education.

Leadership
Learning activities and experiences in and out of the classroom focus on the development of the six leadership attributes outlined in the School’s vision statement Leadership for a better world:

1.	Contributing positively to the community
2.	Applying knowledge with compassion
3.	Solving problems collaboratively
4.	Solving problems creatively
5.	Making fair and just choices
6.	Facing challenges with determination

At Harrow Hong Kong you will find that, in a short period of time, a distinctive and high quality educational experience has been developed for our students, and it is founded on the strong emphasis we place on the leadership and team-working skills we believe are vital in today’s world. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful new campus with first-rate, purpose-built facilities. Most importantly, we have a highly talented teaching team with a tremendous blend of collective experience in excellent independent (boarding and day, senior and prep) schools and state schools in the UK, as well as in international schools, particularly in Asia.

Further information

Individual results for the Year 13 leavers:

Total number of students in Y13 - 49
Students with four A* grades - 7
Students with three or more A* grades -13
Students with two or more A* grades -22
Students with four or more A*-A grades -19
Students with three or more A*-A grades - 30

Public examination results are the combination of many things: the commitment, application and ability of the students; excellent teaching and the dedication of their Subject Teachers and the academic Heads of Department in the Upper School; and the pastoral support provided by the House Masters, House Mistresses and Tutors in the House Pastoral Teams, and the Sixth Form Leader. The public examination results at Harrow Hong Kong are, however, not derived at the expense of the School’s broad philosophy to education. We continue to be pleased with the way in which our students of all ages are inspired to develop to a love of learning for its own sake, to aspire to genuine scholarship, to commit to a range of extra-curricular pursuits and to genuinely engage with developing the School’s six leadership Attributes outlined in its vision statement Leadership for a better world.”
