Last week Sophie Lorford (Marketing) and Sophie Sheard (Customer Services) went to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for the week, and were lucky enough to visit many of the leading schools in this dynamic region. Here’s the news from the visit:
Beautiful World - East Meets West in this innovative Opera and Arts Project

With Sheikh Zayed’s poem and Narjes Noureddine’s calligraphy as a starting point, we worked with Cranleigh Abu Dhabi’s students over five days in November to interpret what Sheikh Zayed’s moving poem – Beautiful World – means to them.
The result was a piece created by the students themselves in response to Beautiful World. What made this so relevant is that the students represent perfectly the international community envisaged in Beautiful World. Read more here. You can check out the video trailer for the project here.
CAS wins prestigious NEASC accreditation
One of Dubai’s leading educational institutions - Collegiate American School (CAS), which offers an American education programme based on the American Common Core Standard - has been awarded the prestigious New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accreditation, which emphasises best practice in curriculum, assessment and instruction.
CAS, based in Umm Suqeim 2, is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, which is also accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS). It has programmes from pre-kindergarten through to Grade 11, and offers a technology-enabled learning environment that focuses on digital learning. NEASC is a forceful advocate of educational quality and its improvement.
